Cookie policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar storage that Window Savings UK uses. We keep this to the minimum needed to run the site and to understand which advertising campaigns bring visitors here.
First-party marketing attribution (wml_*)
When you land on the site, we set first-party wml_* cookies (and mirror the same values in your browser’s local storage) so that if a campaign referred you, that context still exists when you submit the form. These store marketing attribution data only: campaign source, medium, campaign name and search term (for example UTM values), advertising click identifiers such as Google and Meta click ids, and the page you first landed on.
- Names:
wml_utm_source,wml_utm_medium,wml_utm_campaign,wml_utm_term,wml_utm_content,wml_gclid,wml_fbc,wml_fbp,wml_landing_urland related keys. - Purpose: attribute enquiries to the correct advertising campaign.
- Type: first-party, set by this site.
- Expiry: 90 days (local-storage copies persist until you clear them).
These cookies are scoped to our own domain and are not readable by other websites.
Tag manager & analytics (enabled later)
We may enable a tag manager and analytics in future to measure how the site performs and to report advertising conversions. When that happens, additional cookies will be set — typically Google Analytics cookies such as _ga and _ga_XXXXXXX, and advertising cookies such as Meta’s _fbp/_fbc. This section will be updated with the exact cookies, purposes and expiry dates before any such tags go live.
Strictly necessary
Some storage is essential to the page working — for example remembering the marketing context above so your enquiry is attributed correctly. Without it the form still works, but we may lose the campaign information.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings, and clear the local-storage values the same way. Blocking them will not stop you using the site or submitting the form; it only affects how accurately we can attribute your visit. For more on managing cookies, see the ICO’s guidance.
For how we use the personal details you submit, see our privacy policy.
